What are stretch marks?

They are linear, parallel marks, somewhat resemblant of scars. In the initial stage, they are red or reddish. These early stretch marks are very easy to remove; later, however, as they enter the second stage and become pearl white, they cannot be eliminated in 100%. What causes stretch marks?

Stretch marks are created when there is a disproportion between the skin's strength and the forces stretching it. They are formed in the dermis layer, and their formation is linked to the impairment of fibroblasts (cells responsible for producing collagen and elasticin). Genetic predisposition also influence the formation of stretch marks.
